It is considered the largest and least fragmented park, with almost 95% of the area being designated wilderness – meaning it is still in its natural state. The park is home to 20% of California’s plant species, including the famous sequoia groves. Sequoias are visually striking and dominant trees, standing for thousands of years. They have long been an important attraction for tourists.
